Fantasy vs Reality is a exploration of my past as a kid, in the post communist Bucharest I was living, at all the events that happened, at everything that was against the fantasy bubble that I was in when I was watching cartoons and TV for way too many hours. I'm using the proportions of Benford Law to create this fantasy world (the base layer of the paintings) where everything is as it should be, balance, nice, uniform.

Then using durational performance (at least 6h long in one sitting) to apply the layer of the real world, without any plan of how and what to do in that layer, just utilising the material I have chosen before and enacting whatever I feel and think about during those hours. When the time for the performance is done, the painting is finished, no adjustments happen after, the painting is as it should be.

 

The performances were lived streamed at the time, but now the video evidence of it is shown through time lapses videos.
